Baojun Li received the Ph.D. degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an China, in 1998. He worked with Fudan University, Shanghai, China, as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 1998 to 2000. After that, he worked with the Singapore-MIT Alliance and National University of Singapore from 2000 to 2002, first at a Postdoctoral Fellow and then as a Research Fellow. From April to October 2002, he worked as a Research Fellow with the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore. He joined the Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China, as a Full Professor in 2002, and served as the Director of the Research Laboratory for Optoelectronic Integration and Lasers in the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies.

He was CEO of TerreStar Corporation (formerly Motient Corp.) from 2006 to 2008, and CEO of TerreStar Global and TerreStar Networks Inc., from 2005 to 2008. He is a former senior executive with Deutsche Telekom and Bell Atlantic International [now Verizon]. He was appointed by President Reagan as Chief Legal Officer of the Department of Commerce and Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Commerce and chaired the Reagan Administration policy working group that privatized commercial space transportation.

Dr. Kung graduated from National Tsing Hua University 1969 and 1972 with BS and MS degree in physics, university of Alabama in Huntsville 1974 in physics and Northwestern university 1979 in material science. He is a Post doctor at Georgia Tech and research science at Lawrence laboratory, With about 6 years experiences in US industries Fairchild and National Semiconductor and he worked for ITRI (Taiwan) since 1987 and also worked for National Chung-Hsing University electric engineering department since 1991 to 2016 (retired).

I have been working on queueing theory and applied probability. My current research interest is a martingale approach for asymptotiic analysis of stochastic networks including queues and multidimensional reflecting processes. I am working on two subjects for them. One is tail asymptotics of their multidimensional stationary distributions. Another is their diffusion approximations, using semi-martingale reflecting Brownian motion on orthants. I am particularly interested in how boundary reflecting behavior affect the tail asymptotics and the diffusion approximations, and represent them in terms of modeling primitives. There is a big jump between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional reflecting processes, which corresponds with 2-node and 3-node queueing networks. I am currently challenging to fill this gap. I was originally interested in single node queues with a general class of stationary inputs. I then worked on Palm culculas, characterizations of insensitivity, product form queueing networks, and Markov modulated queueing models. These are more or less exact analysis, but require stronger conditions to get something to be specific. I felt their limitations, and got into theoretical study on asymptotic behavior.

Dr. Ella Faktorovich founded Pacific Vision Institute in 1998. Her commitment to advancing refractive options for patients has led her to be considered one of the world's leading ophthalmologists. She is one of the first surgeons in San Francisco to have performed LASIK vision correction, and is also first surgeon in the San Francisco Bay Area certified by the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance.
